Web design today is a highly competitive industry. Everyone seems to know someone who can build a website, so why should you employ the services of a company like DX Net?
One of the main reasons is ongoing support and maintenance. So many times we've heard the line, "We can't get in touch with the guy who set it up...". With a company like us, we're always just a phone call or email away when it comes time for an important update.
Another important reason is the knowledge that your website has been built correctly to allow your visitors to find and access your information without problems. Most of the websites we've seen which have been built by 'a friend of a friend' always fall down upon testing for one reason or another, which ultimately hinders the website, and therefore the business. And sometimes it hasn't even worked out any cheaper for the business!
We use the best web design practices to ensure that the end product is professional and reflects well on your business. The vast majority of our new business comes from word of mouth referrals from our existing clients and associates, so we must be doing something right!

If you have regular updates which need to made to your website, then a content management system (CMS) is the likely solution. A CMS allows a website administrator (such as the website owner or a member of staff) to access the website and update the content within the web pages. Common examples of pages regularly setup for CMS control are latest news, events, product pages, customer comments and company services.
At DX Net we've developed our own CMS software, CMSPremio, allowing us to easily customise the software to your individual needs. The CMSPremio is easy to use and we offer free tutorial and support to help you get used to the software as quickly as possible, regardless of your level of computer ability.

Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) is quite simply what is required to get your website a higher ranking in the search engines. As standard we implement search engine optimisation techniques to help your website to be indexed in the major search engines. We focus on the big three; Google, Yahoo! & MSN, and our recently published websites have been indexed in at least one of these big three within just two weeks. (Industry standard is 12-16 weeks.)
Always be sure to ask your web developer about getting into these search engines before giving them the go ahead to develop your new website, as some companies don't include any of these techniques in the development cost.

W3C (World Wide Web Consortium) is an international consortium which develops web standards. W3C primarily pursues its mission through the creation of web standards and guidelines designed to ensure long-term growth for the web.
The standards and guidelines are in place to enhance and develop the quality of the entire internet, whilst at the same time increasing the usability and exposure for complying websites. Gone are the days where the vast majority of people used Microsoft Internet Explorer to access the web. Statistics for March 2008 show that only 53% of people use Internet Explorer (down from over 83% five years ago), so what if your website only appears and functions correctly in Internet Explorer? That means the other 47% of potential visitors won't be able to access your content the way it's intended. That's nearly every other visitor!
The other important part of the W3C standards are the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) which benefit users with disabilities. In the UK, Part III of the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) outlines accessible websites as part of considerations which service providers (i.e. businesses) must make in order to allow their services to be available to disabled users. This basically means that businesses must be seen to be making efforts to adhere to this legislation.
We can provide you with a compliance and accessibility report for just £79.99 which will detail the current status of your website in regard to the guidelines. Simply get in touch and ask for an Accessibility Report.

We can design and develop websites to meet any budget. Many of our clients are small local businesses or new start-ups, where cashflow is always an understandable issue.
At DX Net, one of our specialities is to design websites on a budget which make small businesses appear larger than they actually are. This provides an excellent foundation for them to build their business upon.
And what's more, by choosing DX Net to design and develop your new website, you may even be eligible for partial funding to help with the setup cost as we are approved service providers for the North East England Service Provider Register. How did we get there? Based on positive feedback from our past clients.
